Studio Movie Grill purchased Chatham 14 in January 2014, with the aim to be renovated and rebranded by May of that year. In 2016 it continues to be listed as Chatham 14 and Studio Movie Grill still lists Chatham as “coming soon.”

According to the Chicago Examiner, Donzell and Alisa Starks, of Inner City Entertainment Company opened the Chatham 14 in 1997 and named it ICE Chatham 14 Theaters. In 2013, Michael Silver, a previous part owner, became the new owner and the name was changed to Chatham 14 Theaters.

The theater’s last technical upgrade was in April of 2013 when Sony 4K projectors were installed in all of the auditoriums.

Didn’t ICE have a hand in the ill-fated Meridien chain circa 2000-2001? Or Vise Versa.
