The Movies at Plantation had a relative short life. It opened in the early 80s and was closed sometime in the 90s

I think it was from the Coca-Cola Company. No it played all over in the various chains and independants.
I have a listing for two theaters in this area of Florida. I’m trying to figure out if they are both the same theater or not. The first was a 7 screen theater called Movies at Plantation 7, which I believe is this theater. The other listing is a theater called the Broward Mall 4 located across from the Broward Mall on West Broward Boulevard. The Broward Mall 4 was damaged by Hurricane Andrew 1n 1992 and did not re-open. Could these two theaters be the same or were they just located near each other.

No, they were not the same theater. The Movies at Plantation was in fact a 7 screen theater and if I recall correctly opened a few years before the 4 screen Broward Mall theater did. Both were located near the Mall. The four screen was directly across from the west side of the mall on a side street (that I forget the name of) that led about a ¼ mile or so south from West Broward Blvd.
The Movies at Plantation was directly on W. Broward Blvd. between Pine Island Road and University Dr.
Thanks Irv. I wasn’t sure if they were the same theater so I didn’t add the Broward Mall 4. I will add it now. I’ll just give West Broward Boulevard as an address until we can find out what street it was actually located on.
The address here was 8400 W. Broward Boulevard. It operated from 1978 to 1994.
Here is a June 1993 ad for Jurassic Park. The ad verifies the address that Al gave in the comment above.
That ad didn’t work for me. You might want to post it again.
Try this one.
That’s it. Thanks.
Wow, I can’t for the life of me remember this movie theater ever existing. Maybe I just never noticed it since I used to frequent either the Mercede, Broward Mall 4 or the Fountains. Is that Google Maps street photo accurate? Was it where J Ristorante is presently? Any help on remembering this theater would be greatly appreciated.
