The chevroned half columns where the walls met the curves of the outer proscenium are outside the frame in this picture, but can be seen in the colour picture of the altered wide screen stage area. I have long ‘remembered’ a second pair framing the curtains, but this picture shows the series of 11 medallions on the inner faces of the proscenium opening which gave rise to my ‘memory’.
