The Newmark building was constructed in 1991 as a retail project attached to an apartment/condominium tower. It is right in the heart of downtown Seattle.

This theater closed in late May-early June 1997, but the condos, retail space and office space are still open and used.

The Newmark was never successful. At the time it was in a high-crime area that no doubt kept people away. That and high downtown parking prices.
