My guess is that there are just enough people in Aiken area who don’t want to drive to Augusta to see a movie. Regal gave the old Pastime Pavillion here in Lexington, SC a big remodel because they recognized that there was no competition in the area. You’d think they’d do the same here, but I have heard that after the Cineworld acquisition that the remodels have slowed down.

Visited in Summer 2018 when I happened to be in Aiken. It looked exactly like it did in the mid-90s. Based on information from another Regal GM, this is an underperforming location. Do yourself a favor, jump on I-20, and drive across the river to the GTC Riverwatch.

1995, 1990 does it matter; a majority of Aiken Moviegoers go to Augusta,Ga or Columbia,S.C. for entertainment.

Yes, Mike it opened in 1995,but this is one sorry little eight plex.I have been to it,looked in the glass doors and tried my best to figure out how they got eight screens in that building. There must a bunch of hundred seat houses in there. On top of that I was told the seats came out of a theatre in Charleston damaged bt Hurricane Hugo or some other coastal storm. Aiken I would think is a city that could support a larger theatre complex and i am quite surprized the great REGAL Theatre chain we hear so much about has not built a new multiplex.Heck,Greenwood,S.C. a much smaller town up the road has more screens. That is about all one needs to know on this little eight plex.Pity they tore down a pretty decent Triple Theatre in Downtown Aiken to build this next to a very small one story mall!
