Opened on 7th September 1936 with Ned Sparks in “Two’s Company” and Ben Lyon in “Dancing Feet”. The Odeon was a stylish addition to Oscar Deutsch’s Odeon circuit.

It was tripled in 1975 and closed on 3rd July 1982 with screenings of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, “Quest For Fire”, and “Coalminer’s Daughter”.

It was de-tripled and converted into a bingo hall first Top Rank and currently Mecca which remains open today.
