Lakes Car Drive-In

The Lakes Car Theatre was opened July 2, 1957 with Bob Hope in “That Certain Feeling” and Charlton Heston in “Three Violent People”. It began screening adult movies from June 14, 1972 when it was named Lakes Car Drive-In. The opening adult movies were “Country Kozzins” & “Wild, Free & Hungry”. It was closed in 1987.

This opened on July 2nd, 1957 and switched to an adults only policy on June 14th, 1972. Two grand opening ads in the photo section.

Photographs of the remains of the drive-in in October 2019 added. No sign of the screen tower, unfortunately. As you will see, the lot is quite overgrown with weeds.

Also opened on 2/7/1957 with a big cartoon show(not named?). Opened as Lakes Car Drive-in on 14/6/1972 with “Country cozzins” and “Wild, free and hungry”. Closed in 1986. 500 cars.
