Lindley Theatre

The Lindley Theatre opened in 1921 seating 1,151. It was located on North Fifth Street at East Roosevelt Boulevard. By 1941, the Lindley Theatre was operated by Warner Bros. Circuit Management Corp.

The theatre closed in 1958 and in 1960 was converted to a catering establishment. It then became an amusement hall operated by Choe Myung. By 2010 it was in retail use.

It looks like the owner has turned the arcade into a dollar store.

Added a photo with comment by Rachel Hildenbrandt- The Lindley seems to be very much intact, actually. It’s impossible to get a good photo inside, but it’s possible to see – when situated strategically – the proscenium arch, curtains on either side of the arch (pictured), and the a central chandelier with connected, surrounding light fixtures.
