My grandmother Kitty Thompson stands in front of the Rialto Theater at 1525 Elm St. alongside The Budweiser Clydesdales in 1953. My grandparents, Boyd and Kitty Thompson, operated the neighboring Tobacco Mart once located at 1519 Elm and a cafe (Eats) next door at 1517 Elm during the 1940s-1950s in the retail building(s) constructed on the lot formerly occupied by The Mirror Theater which burned in 1941. Note: Adolphus Busch, owner of the Budweiser trademark, invested in new buildings and businesses in Dallas, Texas, in the early 20th century. In 1912 Busch constructed the Adolphus Hotel and later the Busch Building located on Main St.
