To compete against Guy Mahoney’s Palm in downtown Missouri Valley, K. Moreland’s Majestic installed a Wurlitzer, used attractive girl usherettes, had the Mutual Film exclusivity contract and made heavy use of billboards in the silent era to lure patrons. This photo is from 1916.
