“The building on Argyle Street, Kowloon —–,"
I thought the Gala Theatre was located on the east side of Nathan Road, more towards Lai Chi Kwok Road.

The anniversary celebrations of the Republic of China were held at the theatre from 1972 to 1978.

This is from the South China Morning Post:

“1959: Workmen were putting the final touches on the Gala Theatre in preparation for its grand opening. The building on Argyle Street, Kowloon, cost $5 million to build and equip and was capable of seating 1,350”.
