Parkway Drive-In

Viewing: Photo | Street View

The Parkway Drive-In, located in Thorofare, NJ, ran feature movies in the 1950’s and 1960’s. When the theatre fell on hard times, it resorted to showing adult movies in the late-1970’s. By the early-1980’s the theatre was shut down and abandoned.

Later, the contents of the lot and buildings was sold off and the screen was torn down. All that remains of the Parkway Drive-In is the four huge concrete blocks that anchored the screen, the fence posts from the original gates, and the empty lot.

Here is a 1963 aerial photo. If you need a landmark, try Bergey’s Truck Tires at 1699 Crown Point Road in West Deptford. On the map view the large piece of vacant land to the left is the drive-in.
