Here is a night view of the Michigan marquee from around 1993.
I haven’t found any mention of a prior name for the Michigan Theater but it is possible that it had another name. Those other South Haven, MI theaters could be added to CT. If one of them turns out to be the Michigan Theater it could be removed.
Lost,
I wonder if the Michigan Theatre is a remodel of an earlier theater or a new construction? The 1945 (and several editions prior) Film Daily Yearbook lists two theaters in South Haven, both run by a subsidiary of Paramount:
Center (438 seats)
Model (460 seats)
The 1950 edition lists:
Model (419 seats)
Phoenix (468 seats)
Obviously the Michigan Theatre dates to after 1950. I wonder if anyone can give any more history on the Michigan, or the other 2 or 3 South Haven movie houses?
The Water Winter Wonderland site has this theater listed as a triplex. “The theater has been split into a tri-plex with 2 lower auditoriums and a converted balcony auditorium”. Here is the website.
This is a recent photo of the Michigan Theater.
