The Mimosa Theatre has a wonderful vintage Art Deco style exterior and has been operating as a movie theatre since before 1941, when it was listed with a seating capacity of 600.
A new seven screen multiplex was built along side the original Mimosa Theatre in the last few years, which is operated by Marquee Cinemas.
The original theater still has its marquee with the ‘Mimosa’ name but a restaurant has taken over the interior. The seven new screens all have stadium seating.

This is the website for the Mimosa Cinemas.
After attending this theater it looks like they gutted the original auditorium and made 3 screens from that space. The other 4 screens and lobby are all new construction built adjacent to the old. Everything flows together pretty well though. The restaurant occupies the original lobby area only.

Interesting to read of the new multi-screen cinemas being built next to the original art deco Mimosa. I’ve learned that the Mimosa sits dark, today except for a restaurant in the lobby area, only. Would love to see interior photos and read personal memories of seeing movies at the Mimosa.
