By the way, the information in this listing is not correct. They did not move into the mall and increase to four screens. They opened an ADDITIONAL four screens inside the mall, which then closed about 2000. The 3-screen theater outside the mall stayed open until it closed/moved when Kerasotes opened a new Showplace 16 about two miles away in 1997 (now AMC).
Some friends and I are interested in buying or leasing this building and reopening it to play older movies. Anyone know who owns it or how to find out who to contact?
FACEBOOK has a REMEMBERING PLITT THEATRE page, folks.
Four cinemas in the mall opened on February 11th, 1983. Cineplex Odeon listed then together from 1987 onwards.
Three cinemas opened outside the mall on August 29th, 1975. Grand opening ad with an small picture has been posted here.

The other three Plitt theaters designed by Finck, Stowell & Frolichstein are also listed at Cinema Treasures:
Hawthorne Theatres, Vernon Hills, Illinois.
Fox Valley Theatres, Aurora, Illinois.
Orland Square Cinemas, Orland Park, Illinois.
This was one of at least four 1970s multi-screen theaters designed for Plitt Theatres by the Chicago architectural firm of Finck, Stowell & Frolichstein. Others included quads in the Chicago suburbs of Vernon Hills and Orland Park, and another in Aurora, Illinois.
The Cherryvale Mall triplex had 1494 seats, according to an ad for the Massey Seating Company published in Boxoffice Magazine, August 2, 1976.
how much would it cost to purchase the theatre and what would the terms of use and service be?
