The New Town Cinemas 12 was opened in 2005. Consolidated owned 371 screens in 26 theatres in Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Taken over by Regal Entertainment by April 2012.

This is the only theater left in Williamsburg. The Carmike Cinema 4 and the Williamsburg Crossing 7 plex (Both owned by Carmike Cinemas) closed down.

The New Town Cinemas 12 was designed by the Charlotte, NC, architectural firm ADW Architects.

There is now a new Cinema, The Movie Tavern, on High Street.
