Don,great pictures.thank you so much for putting them on CT.
I did some checking 03-04-2011, and found a prjectionist and his daughter, and they both confirmed the theater was on the site of the now Trails End Restaurant.
The Snack bar is intact , and survives, and can be seen on Don Lewis
Vanishing Theater image site.

The projection booth / snack bar building stands behind the Wagon Wheel cafe about a mile east of walmart.

Movie ads from 1951 and 1953 for the Hi-Ho Drive-In here and here in Gainsville Texas.
No trace remains of the former Hi-Ho Drive-In. A bowling alley and Walmart now occupy this property.
The Hi-Ho Drive-In had a car capacity of 300 cars and was operated by Frontier Theatres, Inc. out of Dallas, Texas.
