If I remember correctly from an article at the time they both opened (August 1998, by the way; I saw “Blade” there opening weekend.), both theater chains wanted the land & I think they were on the verge of filing lawsuits over who staked their claim on the land first when both sides agreed to split the land.

It’s a very unusual scenario indeed.

Well except AMC 30 and Edwards 22 in Ontario, CA — in the same parking lot.

Right next door,you are right there has to be a heck of a story.I bet there is not another place in the States where you have that.

This 10-plex is right next door to Carmike’s 11-plex. There has to be an awesome story behind this.
