The Florence Drive-In in Florence was built in 1947 for the Richard P. Ernst Realty Co. The drive-in featured a drive that measured 40 feet wide and more that 600 feet long so that no cars would be parked on the highway waiting to get in. The cost of building the theatre was $143,000 excluding land and equipment. As mentioned by Lost Memory the architect was George M. Peterson. A street side attraction board was built by Wagner Signs with changeable see through letters. Upon entering the drive to the box office you would face the screen that would have large lettering reading Drive-In Theatre outlined in neon.

Having been born and living in South Ft Mitchell, KY (from 1949-1956), I can vividly recall many trips with my family to the beautiful ‘Florence Drive-In! I have been searching the web for ANY images of this theater, but have found absolutely NOTHING of importance. PLEASE, if knows of, or has any old photos to share … I am sure that the original resident fans and other drive-in theater enthusiasts nationwide would LOVE enjoying and sharing those images. These photographs would be of great historical reference. Please consider ~ Thanks!
