Belle Air Drive-In

Opened June 15, 1949 with a capacity for 350 cars. Closed either late-1980’s or early-1990’s. Original location designation was U.S. 22 (now WV 105, Pennsylvania Avenue). The drive-in later became part of a residential area of Weirton Heights, its ticket booth entrance located under the back of the screen at the end of Fairway Street. Nice marquee on Pennsylvania Avenue at the Circle Drive turnoff.
Built just inside the state line (if you were to go all the way to the back of the drive-in lot and go over the fence, you’d be in Pennsylvania). The Belle Air Drive-In was razed in the mid-1990’s and Fairway Street was extended for new houses, ending in a cul-de-sac.
