News About This Theater

SF World Cinema was Thailand’s best and hippest cinema complex boasting 15 modern screens spread over three floors. It was located at South East Asia’s largest shopping complex, CentralWorld.

SF World Cinema was owned and operated by the famed and internationally awarded SF Cinema City chain. With five theatre types ranging from Directors World Screen which shows premier art films, World MAX Screen which boasts Asia’s largest screen with the size of 24M by 9M up until the World’s First Class which offered movie-goers ultra luxury services in a elegant charming atmosphere. Patrons could unwind in the lounge with full bar before enjoying their time in the theatre on a fully recliner chair.

SF World Cinema also offered added value services such as Movie Concierge who was available at your service for any booking needs, information and gift vouchers and corporate sales services. The snack bar at SF World also offered one of the city’s best popcorn and drinks. The restaurant at SF World also served a wide range of Modern Fusion cuisine available until Midnight.

SF World was truly a place to be and be seen for moviegoers in Bangkok.

It was destroyed when peaceful demonstrators rioted against the armed forces in May 2010, setting fire to the shopping centre.

Ive seen many movies at this complex and although, when outside all you see is a 4mtre high sign outside the shopping mall. once youre inside it realy is spectacular. You pay for your ticket and an usher then takes you to the exclusive bar area where you get a drink before another usher takes you to your seat. When you have sat down, two ushers bring a pillow and a blanket and after makeing you feel comfortable you are given a free cocktail as the movie starts. The screens ive been in are of a very decent size with the seats being as big as home sofas there is only about 10 in each row. the presentation is of a very high standard. If in Bangkok -GO! They do late night screenings most nights at around 11pm.

If it’s eleven p.m. and you’ve given me a couple of drinks and a pillow, there’s no way I’m staying awake through the movie.
