Woodside Cinemas

The Woodside Cinemas was opened on January 16, 1981. It is Toronto’s only other theatre besides Albion Cinemas. Located on the east side of Toronto, this theatre shows both Hindi Punjabi and Tamil movies. Tickets are only $8.5 and $6.5 matinees. Recently renovated in 2007, the theatre is very well known in the comunity.

Was a Canadian Odeon and later Cineplex Odeon. Became independent after Loews Cineplex went in peril in 2001.

This theatre’s opening movies were Stir Crazy, Scanners, and Seems Like Old Times.

Cineplex Odeon initially closed this cinema on March 13, 1996, and its closing films include “Happy Gilmore” (stereo), “Rumble in the Bronx” (Dolby Stereo), and “Hellraiser 4: Bloodline” (Dolby Stereo).
