Cine Ideal opened May 1916 as the first movie palace in downtown Madrid.
Yelmo Films took over the site in 1990, reopening 1991 after building eight screens, adding a ninth in 1996. Another complete overhaul and restoration of the original, stained-glass window adorned facade followed in 2002.

The Yelmo Cineplex Ideal’s nine auditoriums, ranging from 83 to 384 seats for a total of 1,725 seats, are located on three levels including one auditorium underground. The busy movie theater specializes in original-language versions and arthouse films.

Was there tonight to see ‘A Single Man’.
First weekend of its release and just 5 at the midnight show.
The place really needs a good clean and refurbishment.
