Original photo taken 18th June 1937 several days before the official opening, however, Dimples stills are clearly displayed within the front cabinets, though have not yet made it to the canopy. I have heard about ‘The Last Man Standing’ but that is what exactly happened here with the Odeon. All the Edwardian buildings to the left and right of the Cinema were demolished leaving the cinema isolated until its fate too was sealed.
