The silent screen house existed from at least 1915. It was possibly closed on August 22, 1921 following a fire in the projection box. It went into retail use and today is in use as housing.

Hmm; this creates a bit of a puzzle; the Lafayette Theatre in Pittsburgh at a different address (see /theaters/24362/)) was also known as the Crescent from 1916-1918; it seems odd there would have been two theaters operating around the same time with same name.

That is odd CWalczac, its caught my eye because I used to work at a CRESCENT theatre known as LOEWS CRESCENT at the time in Nashvillle,Tn.There were 2 Crescents theatres there but at different times or course. But both of these theatres were located within 2 blocks of each other.

Likely closed after a minor projection booth fire on August 22 1921 as the building is used for other retail purposes not long after.
