This triplex opened in the early-1980’s in a building that formerly served as a J.C. Penney department store. The formerly GKC-operated Royal Knight Cinema is now part of the Carmike chain.

Name of this theatre should be Royal Knight Cinema, there is no s in the name.

J.C. Penney moved out of the building in 1983 and the theater opened in 1987.

It must have been a terrible place to catch a flick.Most theatres built in department stores are.
