I went to this theater many times when it was open. The entire shopping center was hit hard by the recession, and many businesses closed up or moved. It is up for sale. It would be nice if it could reopen again, but they need a better movie selection and more tennants to move into the Pavillions to be successful.

The Pavilions opened in late 1989 and had 70mm capabilities (although they never showed anything in 70mm). The three largest auditoriums had THX and the largest was fitted with a Cinema Digital Sound processor for “Terminator 2”. It was the only theater in Arizona to have the short lived CDS format.
