The last movie I saw there was Karate Kid 2 in 1986. I believe it closed in 87 or 88.
Opened May 7th, 1976, by a “CGC” cinemas chain. It was taken over by United Artists later in the year. Grand opening ad posted.
Closed in 1989
Opened with “Bugs Bunny Superstar” plus a midnight showing of “Fillmore” in Screen 1 and “The Other Side Of The Mountain” in Screen 2. The opening was also presented by KMOD-FM, a then-progressive rock station in the Tulsa market. The Forum Twin closed on September 4, 1989 with “Weekend At Bernie’s” in Screen 1 and “UHF” in Screen 2.
GCC, not CGC
It was not a GCC. No record of it in the GCC files I’ve seen nor do any of the newspaper ads resemble a General Cinema ad. I believe that’s why Rivest referred to it as “a ‘CGC’ cinemas chain.”
