Watercolour by Robert Cromie, there were similarities to Cromies Gaumont Palace Hammersmith, where I was privileged to work as a manager during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s. The tiered glass fountains either side of the orchestra pit on columns were lit internally, however, because of maintenance those at Hammersmith together with the pair of opulent pendant fittings within the splay walls, were removed by the then owners the Rank Organisation.
