The Melody Theater was opened in late-November 1948. It showed movies until at least the mid-1980’s. It is now used for live music shows.

According to the Arkansas Hisotircal magazine the address for this theatre should be 305 So. Main St., it was located at the corner of S. Main & 3rd. Using Bing mapping it shows the theatre at S. Main & 3rd. The address need to be updated.
The November 13, 1948, issue of Boxoffice reported that the Melody Theatre would be ready to open in about two weeks. The owners were Gene Higginbotham, Leroy Carter, and John T. Hanni.
The Melody Theatre is located at 3rd & S. Main.
The correct address should be
309 S. Main Street. Leachville, AR. 72438.
One owner’s name should be John P Hanni, not John T Hanni. His middle name was Price.
