The Cine Libertad (Liberty Cinema) is located in the centre of San Salvador on the Civic Square Captain General Gerardo Barrios at the corner of Calle Oriente and 6A Avenida Sur. It was a large cinema, and since closing, one use for the building was a proposal use it as a market, to house the stalls of street vendors.
The building was standing empty, gutted internally and unused in June 2009. Nothing had changed in July 2018.
