The Sunset Drive-In was one of many drive-ins that sprung up near the Atomic Bomb Plant. In 1956 the Sunset Drive-In parked 200 cars and was owned by Ray Sanford. Sanford would run the Sunset until he took over the Valley Drive-in not too far down the road.
August 3, 1953 the Sunset Drive-In was playing "The Girls of Pleasure Island" in color with Leo Genn. Also the second feature was "Wagonmaster" with Ben Johnson and Harry Carey Jr.
As most drive-ins go in this area, it had a short life.

It did have a short life, but Aiken S.C. went drive-in crazy at that time maybe the bomb plant had something to do with it.
