Changi was one of the four cinemas located in the Bedok suburb. The other three are Bedok 1 & 2, Princess, and Liwagu theaters.
The Changi was originally a one-screen theater and was later converted into a 3 screens. As a result the halls were cramp and not spacious at all. In addition to the multiscreen, a McDonald’s restaurant was added into the cinema hall.
The Changi closed in 1999 due to poor attendance, as many patrons flocked to the better megaplex located in the city.
