The West Mall opened in 1973 as a single screen, later became a twin and by the mid-1980’s it was seven screens. It opened under the Plitt banner and later became part of the Midcontinent Theatres, then Carmike Cinemas took over in 1995.
In 2001 it became an independent. It operates as a second run discount house.

The original West Mall theatre was located elsewhere in the mall. The current seven screens is an entirely different theatre than the original single.
