The b&w (Cole’s Studio) postcard looking east shows part of the new Survant markee, just above the parked ‘55 Chevy…
The color pic looking west shows the Smith Clinic (Nyquist Loans) on the right corner… the white fronted building 2 doors west was where the Roxy stood. Look farther west until you see the motorcycle… above it and to the right, that yellow “corncob” is The Survant’s markee as well. I think the slotted pattern on the markee was supposed to represent strips of movie film (?) Simple design, probably cheap to construct but very distinctive for its time and place…
