The Carrollton Drive-In opened in 1955. Car capacity was listed at 300. The drive-in closed in 1985 and was demolished in 2003.

Any further information on this dive-in would be appreciated.

Old aerials don’t show a drive in at that location, but maybe 3 blocks away on Park St. there’s an old decrepit drive in there. Is this the place?

An old play bill gives the address of 471 Linda Lane.

In 1956 it was owned by J.E. Duncan.

N Park St & Old Bremen Rd, Carrollton, GA 30117

The above address will map accurately to the location of the drive-in, which is visible on Google Earth using present day imagery.

Two other sites list the Carroll Drive-In at Hwy. 27 & Columbia Dr. (471 Linda Lane). If youu look closely you can still part of the drive-in foot prints. So was their two drive-ins. in Carrollton?

@Chuck: Earth Explorer has quality aerial imagery available for 1955 and 1972. Both those years showed the drive-in as being on what is now N Park St & Old Bremen Rd.

50 years ago that might have meant 471 Linda Lane. Who knows?

Neither of those years (1955 and 1972) showed any other drive-ins, or residual hints of previous drive-in activity.

Here is a 1955 aerial photo of the drive-in and surrounding area, courtesy of Earth Explorer and USGS.

Here is a 1972 aerial photo of the drive-in and surrounding area, courtesy of Earth Explorer and USGS.

N Park St & Hughes Dr, Carrollton, GA 30117

Old Bremen Rd intersects N Park St in twice, causing the mapping to be thrown off. The address in this post will map accurately. Sorry for any confusion or inconvenience.
