Thanks. I am sure that is most likely if not definitely the case as Wehrenberg sold off its more far-flung properties when it was having financial difficulties at that time. The blog item that I found that indicated the theater was closed only mentioned Wehrenberg as the operator. Also “Ciné” is typical part of a Wehrenberg theater name, not often carried over when another operator picks up a previous Wehrenberg house, though in this case it apparently was.
This page needs to get updated immediately. It did close for purposes for a short period of time in 2010 but it reopened later on as the “Picture Show At Frontier Village”, and is still opened today, running first-runs.
A correction on the address is that this is located on 1771 Arizona 69, not 1771 East Highway 69.
Despite closing for a short time in 2010, it reopened later that same year by Picture Show Entertainments (who still runs the theater today).
Wehrenberg Theatres previously operated two other theaters in Prescott, the Marina Theatres and the Plaza West Cine (both twin-screen theaters), which both of them will have its own Cinema Treasures page soon.
