Cinema Arcades

Viewing: Photo | Street View

The ‘Cinema’ was opened in the late-1920’s as a single screen. In recent years it has been converted into a triple-screen cinema, and screens art house films in their original language versions (VO).

Talk about a hidden cinema.maybe that is the best kind to enjoy a movie in.

Saw Woody Allen’s Cassandra’s Dream in the larger of these screens in 2007…tight grading of the seats but a nice small town French art house experience…the great thing about France is that smaller cities – Cannes has a slightly different profile because of its connection to the film world – will support art house programming and community cinemas

Two photos taken during the 64th Cannes Film Festival in 2011. The main screen is the whole of the former stalls area whilst the two smaller cinemas appear to be in the former balcony. The cinema is very well appointed.
