Now a Sovereign Bank. Address is considered 45 Storey Ave., but that is the address for the whole plaza. The movie theatre portion is closer to Low St.

Owned by Brandt Theaters of New York City, Harry Brant, President. At one time Brandt had 119 theaters in Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

From the Newburyport News: “The Brandt Studio Theatre opened at the Port Plaza on Storey Avenue in February 1972. It lasted 10 years, closing in May of 1982.”

I imagine it closed at least partially as result of their losing business to the newly-built multiplex on 110 in Salisbury.
