It is home to the XVIII Airborne Corps (Paratroopers), the 82nd Airborne Division, U.S. Army Special Operations Command and is adjacent to Pope Air Force Base.

York Theater is in Building # C-7950. Flicks are shown Saturday and Sunday at 16:00 and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 19:00.

York Theater is named after "Sergeant York", Sergeant Alvin C. York 1887-1964 One of the most decorated American soldiers in World War I including the Medal of Honor.

That reminds me of Howard Hawks 1941 “Sergeant York” that was nominated for eleven Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Music, etc. It did win an Oscar for William Homes for best Film Editing.

Gary Cooper won an Oscar for Best Actor
