Grand opening ad

During the mid-1980’s, a theatre chain called Fairlane-Litchfield started popping around the South, buying up locations from theatre chains wanting to dump screens. The Litchfield Cinemas in Rome, GA. were four screens playing two shows nitely except on the weekends when they included matinees.

Bought out by United Artists, most locations were sold to Regal which kept them for a few years before letting the smaller cities' theatres decay with mold, and letting the property decline.

This is now operated by a local chain called Village Cinemas. Their website This was originally a four screen when it was opened by Litchfield Theatres on December 9, 1983 called the Litchfield 4. From what is out there UA was the one that expanded it to seven screens.
