According to an article published by the Nanfang Daily on 27th September, 2011, the Tung Ling Terrace Cinema was one of the earliest commercial cinemas to built in Canton in the early-1910’s. Tung Ling is the Cantonese pronunciation of its Chinese name, literally meaning “a soul to be connected with someone by spiritual means”. The exact English name of the cinema if any is unknown. Its exact opening and closing date, location and number of seats are all pending further research.
