Southwest Theaters opened the Lake Creek 7 in the former Alamo Drafthouse on December 20, 2013. According to Impact News, Southwest Theaters gutted the theater and brought in all new seating and a projection system.

The theater airs second-run movies and the company is considering opening other discount theaters in the Austin area.

Nathan Searer, chief operating officer for Southwest Theaters, said, “People ask us if we still serve food, and we don’t.” The Theater built a new concession stand, which serves traditional movie snacks and they added a soft drink machine that serves more than a hundred flavors.
