Mermaid Cinema Centre

Located on Queensland’s Gold Coast on the Gold Coast Highway at the corner of Gaven Crescent, Mermaid Beach. The Mermaid Twin was opened in February 1983 by the Birch, Carroll & Coyle chain. It had cost AU$1.9 million, and was considered the last word in luxury cinemas.

It was later triplexed and was known as the Mermaid 1,2,3. Converted into a five-screen cinema, the Mermaid Cinema Centre was closed around 2005, and was converted into the Mermaid Beach Medical Centre.
