Opened as a SilverCity theatre in December 1998 by Famous Players. Taken over by Cineplex in 2005 and sold to Empire Theatres in September 2005 in order to satisfy competition guidelines after the Cineplex/Famous Players merger.

In 2010, Empire made extensive renovations to the interior and exterior of the complex, completely changing the look and architectural style of the building, and replaced all the seating with rocker-style seats.

Mike Rivest’s guide lists the seating capacity as 2,728 seats, with the largest auditorium seating 346 and the smallest seating 156. However, an IMAX retrofitted screen was added in 2011, and the current seating capacity of that auditorium is now unknown.
