Opened in 1995 by Cineplex Odeon, the Elgin Mills Cinemas were sold to Empire Theatres in September 2005, in order to satisfy competition regulations after the Cineplex/Famous Players merger.
The theatre has automated box offices, digital projection and is CaptiView enabled, but has no stadium seating.
Mike Rivest’s guide lists the seating capacity as 2,327, with the largest auditorium seating 294 and the smallest seating 185.
