Varsity Drive-In

The Varsity Drive-In opened on August 31, 1948, featuring “Good News” starring June Allyson and Peter Lawford. It was the first drive-in theatre to open in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Varsity Drive-In was operated by Louis Worthington and Best In-Drive Theatre’s from Bessemer, Alabama. The drive-in had a capacity of 400 cars. It closed on June 23, 1956. The property is now used for storage.
