According to the Daily News of Los Angeles, the 2,200-seat Movies 12 opened in 1990 and was designed by SGPA Planning.
In 1999 Cinemark opened the nearby Cinemark 22 and turned Movies 12 into a discount operation. It was closed on March 17, 2020 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. In June 2020 it was announce that it would be closed permanently.

“The Rocketeer” was presented at the Movies 12 in 35mm Dolby Stereo beginning on Friday June 21, 1991.
Cinemark’s website indicates that this theatre is permanently closed. Last day of operation appears to be 3/16/2020.
