This aerial view from October 1927 shows the Albion. The occupiers of the houses behind it could not have been happy about the height and bulk of the stage end and fly tower looming over their backyards and blocking out the sun!
The building site to the right of the Albion will be a new Masonic Lodge; and to the right of the latter is the Conservative Club - both buildings are still standing.
(A thought: perhaps the “Albion Assembly Rooms” mentioned in KYB 1913 was the building to the left of the Albion cinema).
