After going all of 1951 without advertising in the Neosho Daily Democrat, Hugh Gardner must have buried the hatchet with the newspaper by the following spring. The April 6, 1952 edition had a front-page note about the Edgewood’s season opener, and this ad was at the top of Page 6. It’s the first time I’ve seen the Edgewood’s sign as well as its “world’s most beautiful” decorative columns. And now we know that they served Huburgers in the unfortunately named “Mammy’s Kitchen.”
